Step back in time and gather around the fire at Marble Springs for Cooking with Fire, a hands-on culinary workshop that brings the frontier to life. As part of our ongoing Hearth & Timber: Experiences of the Past series, this special evening program invites you to learn the basics of 18th-century open-fire cooking in a peaceful outdoor setting.
Led by the talented team from Rising Appalachia, the evening includes:
*Guided instruction on historical cooking techniques
*Preparation of a rustic, frontier-inspired meal using cast iron and open coals
*A shared dinner made and enjoyed together by the fire
Tickets are $25 for non-members and just $20 for Marble Springs members. It’s a great opportunity to save while supporting our mission to preserve and interpret Tennessee’s early history.
This program is designed for adults and is limited to those 18 and older. Because we’ll be working with live fire, hot equipment, and sharp tools, participants should be comfortable with a hands-on experience. Whether you’re looking for a unique date night or a memorable Father’s Day activity with your adult children, this class offers a meaningful way to connect with history—and each other.
The workshop will take place outdoors. In the event of severe weather, we’ll notify registrants directly with any updates or alternate plans.
Reserve your seat using the ticket link here or on our website. We’d love to have you at the fire!
